A small pocket of time to make your space feel a little calmer.
You don’t need a free afternoon, a burst of motivation or a perfectly organised plan.
Sometimes 15 focused minutes is enough to make one small part of your home feel noticeably easier.
This reset is designed to be simple: choose one spot, work through it in a sensible order, then stop.
The 15-minute reset
Pick one spot
Choose somewhere small and visible — somewhere you’ll notice the difference when you’re done.
For example:
a kitchen worktop
a bedside table
the hallway
one chair that has become a dumping ground
a small patch of floor
one shelf
Keep it small enough to finish in 15 minutes.
Your 15-minute plan
1. Rubbish first
Pick up anything that is clearly rubbish and put it straight in the bag.
2. Recycling next
Gather anything that can easily go into your normal household recycling.
3. Things leaving the house
Put donations or other items you already know you no longer want into your donation bag or box.
4. Things that belong elsewhere
Put them into your basket or box rather than wandering from room to room.
5. Tidy what remains
Put back what belongs in the space, straighten what’s left and give the area a quick reset
When the timer goes off, stop.
Finish the loop
Before you finish:
put the rubbish out
put the recycling away
put donations by the front door or in the boot of the car
take the “belongs elsewhere” basket around the house, or at least move things into the right rooms
You don’t need to make the whole house tidy. Just deal with what this 15-minute reset has created.
Leave the area a little calmer than you found it, then stop.
Notice the difference
Take a look at the spot you chose.
It may not be perfect, but it should feel lighter, clearer or simply easier to use.
That’s enough.
